Niagara County Clerk Implements Simplifile E-Recording Service
NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (PRWEB) January 27, 2014 -- Electronic recording (e-recording) of documents is now available in Niagara County, N.Y., enabling customers to more quickly and cost-effectively have land records digitally recorded with the clerk’s office online through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider.
“This is a special moment for Niagara County and for me also. This has been in the works for almost seven years, and I believe this is a historic moment that will bring a positive change for the people of the county and especially for all of us in the clerk's office,” said Niagara County Clerk Wayne Jagow.
With e-recording available, the county’s recording customers, ranging from title companies and banks to law firms, lien filers and beyond, are now able to submit documents to the clerk’s office essentially anytime from anywhere; all they need is high-speed Internet access and a scanner to upload or prepare documents electronically.
Instead of sending documents by mail or driving to the courthouse to record in person, customers can save time by scanning, uploading, and submitting the electronic versions of their original documents to the clerk’s office through Simplifile. In minutes, the documents are received, reviewed, stamped, recorded and returned back to the customer electronically, eliminating the need for the county to send the documents back by mail.
“The savings on mailing costs alone have proven to be one of the biggest benefits of e-recording for both the county and its customers,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “We’re excited to be working with the Niagara County Clerk and making our cost-effective, convenient e-recording service available to more organizations.”
According to Clifford, should a document be rejected for any reason by the county, the customer is notified immediately through Simplifile’s system with the rejection reason, enabling the customer to resolve the issue and resubmit right away.
Niagara County joins Nassau County, Erie County, Oneida County, New York City and its surrounding boroughs, and other recording jurisdictions throughout the state of New York that have adopted Simplifile’s service.
Nationwide, Simplifile’s service has been implemented more than 1,000 recording jurisdictions, with new offices and customers implementing e-recording every day.
