Nightmare on Chicago Street returns for another year of zombie fun and excitement. Local residents and visitors are invited to gather together with the community to help battle take the city of Elgin back from zombies.
Nightmare on Chicago Street takes place Saturday, October 21 from 6 to 11 p.m. in downtown Elgin. On Chicago Street (between Douglas and Villa Avenue), attendees can enjoy a "Safe Zone" featuring live entertainment on four stages, as well as multiple locations offering live DJs, freak shows, graffiti artists and more. Entrances to the "Safe Zone" are located at Spring Street, Douglas Avenue, Grove Avenue and Fulton Street.
Nightmare on Chicago also features a costume contest starting at 6 p.m. at the YWCA (220 East Chicago Street). The costume contest features three categories - Best Horror/Zombie, Best Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Super Hero and Best Couple/Group - and offers cash prizes up to $350 for winners. Additionally, food and drink will be available for sale.
