Nine-Innings Meets 18-holes for the 6th Annual Pinstripe Golf Classic at Woodloch Springs
Hawley, PA (PRWEB) July 24, 2014 -- After a seemingly endless winter, Woodloch Pines, an all-inclusive family resort in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, is celebrating its busy summer season. Guests abound, enjoying everything the resort has to offer, from cookouts and carnivals to go-carts and golf. The greens of the resort’s 18-hole championship golf course,The Country Club at Woodloch Springs, look the best that they have all season, and golfers are eager to get out there and play, especially for a good cause.
The Country Club at Woodloch Springs is excited to announce its 6th Annual Pinstripes Golf Classic on August 6, 2014. The tournament is an 18-hole scramble featuring an amateur foursome plus one current Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders player or coach. All proceeds will go to benefit the Cody Miley Memorial Art Scholarship Fund that has been established for the 17-year-old son of RailRiders manager, David Miley, who died in a car accident in 2008.
Each team will have one member of the RailRiders as its captain. The cost for each player is $250.00 or $1,000.00 for a full foursome, and many valuable sponsorship opportunities are available. Included in each golfer’s entry fee are: 18 holes of golf, a gift bag, lunch, cocktails, dinner, awards and a guaranteed raffle prizes. There will be awards, memorabilia, and a chance to mingle with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and baseball legends of the past. With a shotgun start beginning at noon, there will be snack stations along the course featuring game-time favorites such as peanuts, cracker jacks, and jumbo franks. Additionally, there will be a “beer tasting” tee and “moon shot hole” where players will be able to use a bat and baseball to enhance their golfing abilities and go along with the unique theme of the day.
The Country Club at Woodloch Springs, nationally recognized by GOLF Magazine as "one of the finest courses in America" and rated “4.5 Stars” by Golf Digest’s Best Places to Play, is located just an hour north of Scranton.
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. The RailRiders home opener kicked off April 3rd at the newly redone PNC Field against the Syracuse Chiefs.
