New York, NY (PRWEB) January 31, 2015 -- New Kids on the Block announced their plans to tour around North America with Nelly and TLC. This summer tour will bring a little of the 1980s and 1990s to 2015. The tour will be called “The Main Event Tour” and will feature 47 dates with a round stage that will bring each chart-topping artist’s greatest hits to venues around the country. The tour will kick off on May 1st at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV and will run through July 2nd with a stop at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY.

This isn’t the first time that New Kids on the Block have reunited for a massive tour, and previous guests included Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, and 98 Degrees. This tour will bring them out on the road with R&B artists that will open up their music to a new group of fans. Consisting of Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight and Danny Wood, the group first became a hot commodity in the United States and internationally in 1984. The group released their self-titled debut album in 1986, but their follow-up album was their best-selling to date. Hangin’ Tough was their first No.1 album and sold more than eight million copies around the United States.
Joining New Kids on the Block will be former R&B trio, TLC. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes tragically passed away after a car accident in Honduras, but T-Boz and Chilli have worked to continue spreading the music they loved creating together. The group originally formed in 1990 and has been called one of the top female groups in R&B history. When they hit the stage during this tour, they will play many of their biggest hits including "Creep", "Red Light Special", "Diggin' on You", and “Waterfalls,” all of which were released off their album, CrazySexyCool, which sold more than 23 million copies around the world and earned Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America in the United States.
R&B solo artist and actor, Nelly, will also join these two legendary groups on “The Main Event Tour.” Nelly has done an incredible job of re-inventing himself over the course of the past 15 years. In 2000, he released his debut album, Country Grammar, which sold more than eight million copies in the United States. He has since followed it up with six additional studio albums, but has stayed in the forefront of the music business joining forces with country superstars Florida Georgia Line.
