Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- Many affiliates run into the same catch-22 with websites as others do with jobs: It's almost impossible to build a website if you don't have previous experience, yet they have to build a site to gain experience in the first place. The creators of PC Health Boost ™ aimed to put a stop to this often-frustrating situation with the Website Creation portion of their new media training course.
Programmer, super-affiliate, and Boost Software™ Co-founder Peter Dunbar instructs affiliates and potential software affiliates how to have their own sites up and running in less than a day's time. The first recommendation in his training video is for new affiliates to use WordPress to create their sites.
Dunbar starts with WordPress because it is widely considered to be the easiest, quickest way for most people to build a fully owned and hosted website. Most hosting providers have a “click and install” WordPress option, and the dashboard is, for many, easier than the controls of Microsoft Word.
Dunbar then offers advice on how to give the site an individual look, where to find inexpensive icons and other graphics (conversion-tested graphics are also available on the Boost Affiliates website), where to find good site themes, and where to find inexpensive help with graphic design or coding issues.
The training video offers similar advice on using HTML and CSS to build a site (or have one built). For those who want to “roll their own,” Dunbar mentions good free and low-cost graphic design tools. For those who wish to outsource, he gives tips on how to ensure the site is finished within budget and on time. Specific attention is given to fast and efficient work with designers.
Regardless of how new software affiliates create their sites, profitable affiliates of all stripes agree that it most be optimized to make sales. The Boost Affiliates program supplies downloadable landing pages that are ready for instant use. The Website Creation video also details how to find new layouts and ideas to test against those pages already provided, as different pages will work better for different audiences.
Finally, Dunbar addresses an issue often overlooked by new software affiliates: Browser compatibility issues. This issue frequently affects sales, as customers who click on paid ads are often lost when they can't see the affiliate's site correctly.
The most common browser compatibility issues occur with older versions of Internet Explorer. Dunbar also reveals where other problems may occur, and how to check them so that 20% of sales are not lost. He also directs viewers towards a tool that can check a page for compatibility with several versions of Internet Explorer simultaneously.
A long resource list is included below the video. The list includes seven graphics and site design resources, four DIY tools for building a website, four locations to find quality outsourced help, and a four-point checklist to be followed when working with a designer.
Dunbar and his business Partner Amit Mehta founded Boost Software™ after their years as software super affiliates. The company's flagship software, PC HealthBoost™, was recently added as an offer to the ClickBank network. It became the site's most popular registry cleaner in less than four days.
