Noitom Wraps Up a Second Successful Appearance at the Annual Game Developers Conference
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) March 24, 2016 -- Noitom, the leading motion capture company who introduced Perception Neuron, the world’s most affordable and adaptable full-body motion capture system two years ago, has just wrapped up their second appearance at the Game Developers Conference & Expo where visitors to their booth had the chance to hear the latest announcements from the company as well as to experience their new hybrid motion capture platform, Project Alice.
The 30th annual conference held this year at San Francisco’s Moscone Center welcomed established tech giants as well as new companies who were keen to showcase their products which ranged from video games to VR exercise equipment.
Noitom was among those companies who presented new products at the internationally renowned event. The Beijing-based, motion capture-innovating company used the opportunity to introduce their new B2B VR platform, Project Alice. Noitom also began inviting developers to create experiences for the Perception Glove, their new three-sensor glove created with the same IMU technology as Perception Neuron. The Perception Glove stimulates the use of all five fingers including full, un-occluded motion of the entire arm and/or hand.
“The Perception Glove is a product we were excited to finally announce at GDC. There has been a huge interest in a virtual reality glove and many people have been asking us to create something of its kind ever since we first launched Perception Neuron,” says Haoyang Liu, CEO of Noitom. “Getting the chance to meet with our costumers, as well as connecting with people who have great new ideas for VR is the best thing about attending GDC. We also received some excellent feedback about Project Alice, and that can only help us in its further development.”
Developed by Dr. Tristan Dai, Noitom’s CTO, Project Alice is a groundbreaking, fully immersive, B2B VR platform that will allow businesses to create custom experiences within a virtual world for their audiences.
The multi-faceted platform is ideal for industries such as entertainment, manufacturing, design, marketing, and education where the platform's complete simulation and virtual training solution can be utilized. Project Alice is able to deliver high quality, engaging environments at reasonable costs. The platform also offers multi-user interaction, precise and low-latency hybrid tracking of HMD and physical objects, a large tracking dimension and body/hand tracking in VR.
At this year’s GDC, Noitom offered attendees a live demo experience of Project Alice. The demo allowed participants to try out certain aspects of the platform’s technology. Led by Dr. Dai, participants were given an HMD and a hand-held controller before being taken into a virtual universe where they had the capability of moving through different scenarios.
Project Alice was developed in association with several global partners. Hardware support was provided by global PC leader Lenovo and graphics processor powerhouse NVIDIA. Software and content support was developed in cooperation with Chinese media giant Alpha Animation, Swiss VR house, Kenzan Studios and mobile phone technology innovator Smartisan.
During the conference, Noitom also announced their ongoing video contest, Set Your World in Motion with Perception Neuron. The contest invites anyone, anywhere to submit their best idea for the use of motion capture. Six winners will be selected in total, each receiving up to two Perception Neuron 32 Alum Edition motion capture systems and $5,000 USD to fund their winning ideas. Submissions and voting are open through June 1, 2016 and the winners will be announced in early July.
Up next, Noitom will head to the Nvidia ECS VR Showcase at GTC from April 4-7 at the Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Conference & Expo (SVVR) from April 27-29. Both events will take place in San Jose.
