Nominations Open for Novogradac Developments of Distinction Awards
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) July 18, 2014 -- Nominations are now being accepted year-round for the annual Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits Developments of Distinction Awards. The awards were created to recognize excellence and honor outstanding affordable rental housing properties developed using the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC). Nominations for the 2014 Developments of Distinction Awards will be accepted until Sept. 4, 2014. Winners and their development teams will be honored in a ceremony at the Novogradac Tax Credit Developers Conference, Jan. 8-9, 2015, in Miami Beach, Fla.
“The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program is one of the most important tools we have to build and preserve affordable housing in this country,” said Susan Wilson, conference chair and partner in Novogradac’s Austin, Texas office. “We look forward to receiving nominations for this year’s Developments of Distinction Awards so that we can continue to honor and showcase the incredible work accomplished through strong public and private partnerships.”
Affordable rental properties will be evaluated for the 2014 Developments of Distinction Awards in the following categories:
• LIHTC development that best exemplifies major community impact
• LIHTC development that best reflects market success in overcoming significant obstacles
• LIHTC development that best demonstrates financial innovation
• LIHTC development that best preserves existing affordable rental housing
Nominations for 2014 awards are open to all developers with LIHTC transactions closed in 2013 or 2014. A nominating entity may nominate multiple developments, and/or suggest nominations for more than one category. Judges will determine to which category the nominated entity is best suited.
Winners receive:
• One complimentary entry to the conference to receive the award;
• Coverage of the property in the Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits;
• Copies of the Journal of Tax Credits to share with industry contacts; and
• Recognition on the Novogradac & Company website and YouTube channel, and in a national press release about the event.
