Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 27, 2014 -- Year Up, a one-year intensive training program that provides low-income young adults with a combination of hands-on professional and technical skill development, college credits, and corporate internships, has moved its National Capital Region location to Crystal City, Virginia. Studley, the leading global commercial real estate services firm, supported Year Up in the search and lease transaction.
“As an organization dedicated to closing the Opportunity Divide, it was important that we be accessible to our students, in a space that we could make our own. We are thrilled with our decision to relocate and look forward to continuing our work from Crystal City,” said Ronda Thompson, Executive Director, Year Up National Capital Region.
Year Up’s new space at 1901 S. Bell Street is adjacent to the Crystal City metro station with a private street level entrance and building signage visible from the metro. The organization will occupy 13,689 square feet and is consolidating to one floor from two.
“Following a month long strategic planning process, looking at different submarkets and the advantages of each, the building in Crystal City turned out to be a perfect solution for Year Up. They had an opportunity to redesign the space and become a model for other locations across the country,” said Wendy Feldman Block, Corporate Managing Director, Studley.
The Studley team included Wendy Feldman Block, Corporate Managing Director; Tim Foley, Managing Director; and David Cornbrooks, Assistant Director. Vornado is the landlord.
