North Shore Eye Care Welcomes Eye Doctors from Tri-State Region for Their 10th Semi-Annual Optometric Symposium
SMITHTOWN, NEW YORK (PRWEB) April 20, 2015 -- Eye doctors from across the Tri-State region will learn the latest breakthroughs in pediatric ophthalmology, glaucoma management, laser cataract surgery, retinal and diabetes-related eye disease and more at the upcoming 10th Semi-Annual Optometric Symposium being held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Long Island, according to leading eye surgeon, Jeffrey Martin, MD, medical director at North Shore Eye Care and emcee/lecturer of this annual continuing education program.
Primary eye care doctors attending this year’s symposium will receive 6 COPE credit hours in the pre and post-operative management of surgical, tertiary and medical eye care for the most common eye diseases and conditions. In the brief 5-year span since North Shore Eye Care first began sponsoring this symposium, this joint meeting of optometric and ophthalmic leaders has grown to become of the premier optometric educational events held on Long Island.
In addition to Dr. Martin, other eye surgeons from North Shore Eye Care faculty will include: Andrew Bainnson, MD, FAAO; Faye Knoll, MD; Michelle Liebert, MD.; Brett Rosenblatt, MD and Samuel Baharestani, MD. “Once again, our faculty of surgeons is outstanding,” said Dr. Martin. “Attending optometrists will receive six continuing education credit hours in the areas of Managing Ocular Hypertension, Persistent Epithelial Defects, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Retinal Disease, Laser Cataract Surgery and Caring for Anophthalmic Socket.”
“Everyone here at North Shore Eye Care is proud of the recognition and growth our continuing education symposium has received over the years,” Dr. Martin. “The faculty and staff are dedicated to enhancing our working relationships with the optometric community across Long Island, and everyone here at North Shore looks forward to the opportunity of providing them the Continuing Education medical credit they need on an annual basis.”
Dr. Martin pointed out that North Shore Eye Care’s semi-annual events for local optometrists is not simply to help the doctors fulfill their annual continuing education credits. “Enhancing the patient experience and the quality of care between secondary surgical ophthalmic care providers and primary eye care providers is our overall focus,” he said.
