North Shore Eye Care Wins Back-To-Back ‘2015 Best of Long Island’ In Two Categories
Smithtown, New York (PRWEB) January 30, 2015 -- Men and women of all ages have once again shown their preference for eye care on Long Island by voting North Shore Eye Care ‘Best Ophthalmologists’ and the ‘Best LASIK Surgery Practice’ in this year’s annual ‘Best of Long Island’ contest, according to eye surgeon, Jeffrey Martin, MD, F.A.C. S. Medical Director at North Shore Eye Care.
The ‘Best of Long Island’ contest is the largest business and professional awards program in the history of Long Island. “It is an honor to be recognized by the local residents of Long Island,” said Dr. Martin, adding that it serves as a tremendous boost for the doctors and staff of North Shore Eye Care. “When you win in two categories – which we have been fortunate to do the last two years - it reinforces our core mission statement at North Shore Eye Care. More than 1 million people across Long Island vote each year and this year resulted in the largest participation in the event’s 11-year history. The Best of Long Island contest is conducted each year by the Long Island Press newspaper. The voting for ‘Best of Long Island’ runs from July 1 through August 31st. Voters were allowed to choose ‘Best Of’ in 360 total categories. The top 15-18 nominees advanced to the final voting round, which begins in October. Voting closes in December and the results were recently verified and posted by UPickEm, a 3rd party administrator who oversees the Bethpage Best of L.I. voting pages.
Dr. Martin pointed out that the doctors and staff of North Shore Eye Care were especially proud of this year’s recognition because they were busy adding new physicians, services and locations. “We never want our growth and expansion to adversely affect the quality of care we provide to our patients,” said Dr. Martin. “In the past year, we have added several new physicians and expanded to eight locations across Long Island and it is very encouraging to see that our efforts to continue to provide the highest quality care have not gone unnoticed by our friends and neighbors across Long Island.”
