North Texas Weight Loss Company Leaves Consumers with Money Lost
Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) January 27, 2015 -- As many people continue work on their New Year’s resolution to lose weight, BBB of Fort Worth (“BBB”) reminds consumers to be leery of weight loss products that promise fast results with minimal effort.
BBB has received complaints from consumers seeking more than $1,500 in refunds for weight loss patches ordered from a Grapevine-based weight loss company. Complainants say they were dissatisfied with the product’s results and that they have had other issues with the company, including difficulty obtaining refunds from the company, issues with the product being delivered later than expected, or the product not being delivered at all.
“The New Year is a great time for consumers to resolve to not be fooled” said Larry Taylor, CEO/President of BBB of Fort Worth. “It’s important that consumers take a look at all of the fine print and question product claims that seem too good to be true.”
BBB warns consumers to be wary of weight loss products that are unable to provide substantial evidence to back advertising claims and offers the following warning signs:
• Quick-fix promises, like “lose 10 pounds in one week!”
• Language like “scientific breakthrough” or “guaranteed”
• Products marketed through mass emails or in a foreign language
• “Herbal supplements” claiming similar effects to FDA-approved or prescription drugs
