Northern Arizona University’s Online Degrees Featured On The Balancing Act® on Lifetime®
FLAGSTAFF, AZ (PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- Northern Arizona University’s (NAU) online degree programs and online competency-based Personalized Learning degree programs will be featured on the hit morning show for women, The Balancing Act® airing on Lifetime.
NAU’s Dr. Cori Gordon, Assistant Clinical Professor of Liberal Arts for Personalized Learning, will discuss with The Balancing Act® host Julie Moran trends and developments in higher education relevant to today’s non-traditional student.
Most non-traditional students are over 25, female, employed and attending school online – and today they make up 80% of all college students. Going back to school to earn a bachelor’s degree means a higher salary ($15,500 more a year, according to a recent study) and greater job security. This has encouraged more adults to return to college to earn their degree, and many universities have responded by developing a variety of new approaches to serve the 21st century student.
Dr. Gordon will describe the different options adult students can pursue to earn their degree online, from traditional online degrees to up-and-coming online degree models like competency-based education. These online degree options allow for the flexibility that non-traditional students need to earn a degree.
The Balancing Act®, a trusted source of information for women since its inception, has been airing on the Lifetime channel since 2008. The episode featuring NAU’s Cori Gordon airs on Lifetime on December 16 at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) and again on December 23. The segment will also be available at http://www.thebalancingact.com and on The Balancing Act® YouTube channel after its initial premier.
