Northridge Inn Reports Ontario Resort Wedding Trends Changing
Sundridge, Ontario (PRWEB) April 26, 2014 -- Northridge Inn & Resort (http://www.northridgeinn.com), a full- service resort on Lake Bernard that specializes in four-season family vacations and custom resort weddings, reports that they have observed several new trends that are emerging in the growing Ontario resort wedding market. Who the typical resort wedding couple is and where they come from is changing, according to Brenda and Mike Piraino, the owners of Northridge Inn, located in the popular Almaguin Highlands/Near-North tourist region of central Ontario. Over the past couple of years, they have also witnessed many changes in their wedding customer’s preferences and style of weddings that they want.
“At Northridge Inn, we have now hosted well over 100 weddings. Weddings at the resort are an important part of our business, and the number we host each year continues to grow,” states Mike Piraino. “While traditional weddings are hardly a thing of the past, we are now booking more gay weddings, second weddings, destination weddings and international destination weddings. Destination weddings that are held at an inn or resort property have become very popular over the last several years, and Ontario resorts have benefited from this trend. Ontario resorts with wedding facilities offer couples an economical alternative to expensive overseas wedding destinations. By holding her wedding at an Ontario resort, a bride can have the wedding of her dreams at an affordable price, and in a beautiful setting that her guests can drive to,” explains Piraino.
“While the majority of our wedding clients are typically from Ontario, we have seen a noteworthy increase in the number of resort weddings booked by couples from outside of the country. We have hosted dozens of international weddings for couples from countries like Dubai, Singapore, Germany, Belgium, the Philippines and the US. These couples tell us that they decided to hold their wedding at an Ontario resort because Canada was a place that they always wanted to visit or because they had visited here before and wanted to return. Canada has an outstanding reputation throughout the world as a safe and friendly nation and land of great natural beauty. We have been actively pursuing the foreign wedding business, with resort photos featured in numerous wedding magazines, especially the international ones,” says Piraino.
Another recent change that the Pirainos have found is that the most popular wedding dates at their Ontario resort have switched from the fall to spring and early summer. “In previous years, the autumn months were our busiest time for weddings at the resort, but we are now booking more spring weddings, with the earliest starting in May. Based on last year’s business and on the number of wedding bookings that we currently have, we are predicting that 2014 will be our best year yet for weddings at Northridge Inn.
I believe the reason we are booking more marriages of all kinds at the resort is because we are highly receptive to customizing weddings for couples who want a resort wedding that is specifically tailored for them and not a generic wedding package. Brenda co-ordinates and plans all of our weddings. She works with every bridal couple, including couples from different countries and cultural backgrounds to ensure that their own unique vision of their special day is realized,” adds Piraino.
