Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars to Induct Estelle Brown on Thursday, Dec. 6
SHREVEPORT, La. (PRWEB) November 30, 2018 -- The Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars will induct Estelle Brown during a public ceremony at Shreveport Municipal Auditorium on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. Brown is a Shreveport resident and the last remaining member of the Sweet Inspirations, the backup group that sang with Elvis Presley at every tour event from 1969 until Presley’s death in 1977. Brown, who continues to perform live, will be a part of the James Burton Christmas Concert: Memories of Elvis at Margaritaville Resort Casino in Bossier City on Saturday, Dec. 8. The public is invited to attend Brown’s Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars induction ceremony. The ceremony will take place inside of the museum located in the lobby of Shreveport Municipal Auditorium at 705 Elvis Presley Avenue in Shreveport. Admission is free.
The Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars is the offspring of a Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce initiative which started in 1997 and has since evolved into a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The Walk of Stars was created to recognize individuals from Northwest Louisiana who are distinguished in their professional and/or civic endeavors or who have brought recognition and attention to the area, and who have been involved in those activities for at least five years. The honorees may come from any profession or industry including, but not limited to athletics, music, acting, business, politics, education, and community service. The Walk of Stars is located under the Texas Street Bridge in downtown Shreveport's Red River District. The street address of the Red River District is 450 Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport.
