Not-For-Profit Executive Pay Up Almost 6% from Last Year
(PRWEB) March 02, 2016 -- Executive Pay in the not-for-profit sector on average increased approximately 6% from last year according to a survey published by Total Compensation Solutions (TCS). TCS observed a range of Executive pay increases from 7.4% for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to 4.5% for the Top HR Executive.
TCS calculated these increase percentages using only matched sample data from 2014 to 2015. “We looked at compensation from organizations that reported data for the same position in both years” notes Tom Bailey, Survey Project Manager. “It was surprising to see how much larger these increases were compared to the 3% we have seen in the market for the last few years”.
The 2015/2016 Not-for-Profit Compensation Survey is the 13th edition of Total Compensation Solutions’ not-for-profit survey. The survey reports compensation data for 71 positions from 654 organizations in the not-for-profit sector. The survey reports data for: five geographic regions; five not-for-profit industry types; and by five operating budget groups. Data is displayed by average; 25th, 50th & 75th percentiles; and includes bonus information as well as salary range information. The survey also reports on the practices of participants regarding: health & welfare benefits, retirement benefits, annual increases, Paid Time-Off (PTO), and bonus/incentive plans and practices.
TCS reported several additional points from the survey including:
• When compared to the other industry sub-sectors in this survey, Health Care and Educational organizations have the highest median base salaries.
• When compared to the other geographic regions of the country, the Northeast region has the highest median base salaries.
• A very strong correlation exists between compensation and the operating budget of organizations in this survey sample. Seventy-six percent (76%) of the positions in this survey had the highest median base salaries when in the largest operating budget group.
