Not Your History Teacher’s Civil War Lecture
Buffalo, New York (PRWEB) January 07, 2016 -- When a country is at war, many demands are placed on its citizens. What would life have looked like for the American people had the Civil War lasted ten years? Author Dave Hornung explores this scenario in depth in his new steampunk adventure novel, “The Ratten Expedition.”
In “The Ratten Expedition” the American Civil War has doubled in length and technology has advanced rapidly due to the force of the war. A decade after the war ends a new terror faces the Union. A federal research product designed to enhance union soldiers goes awry and an eclectic government team forms to solve the mystery.
“The book has a strong moral tone and positive ideas within it,” said Hornung. “It is a big adventure.”
Hornung has spent time participating in Civil War reenactments fueling his interest in the time period. Already well versed in the steampunk genre, Hornung was able to combine his enthusiasm for history with his taste for steampunk and churn out a novel suited for anyone with a zest for adventure.
“The Ratten Expedition” provides a glossary at the end of the book for history buffs looking to compare where history was changed with what is historically accurate.
