Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) February 13, 2014 -- Terry Kovel has been named to the Board of Trustees of the Western Reserve Historical Society. Kovel is a noted author, publisher, syndicated columnist, and expert on antiques and collectibles. Kovel has written 97 books in conjunction with her late husband, Ralph Kovel, and five with her daughter, Kim Kovel. The 47th edition of the Kovels’ most well-known book, "Kovels’ Antiques and Collectibles Price Guide," will be published this year. Kovel’s syndicated column about antiques and collectibles is the longest-running syndicated weekly column in the country written by its original author. Today, it appears in more than 100 printed newspapers in addition to a number of online publications.
The Kovel family also appeared in three television series, one for WVIZ public television in Cleveland, one for the Discovery Channel, and a third for Home & Garden Television (HGTV). Each series included over 26 shows in which the Kovels discussed antiques and collectibles. Additionally, they have each appeared as guests on a number of national television shows, speaking as experts in the field of antiques and collecting.
Currently, Terry Kovel is CEO of Kovel Antiques, Inc., a member of the boards of WVIZ/PBS Ideastream and Laurel School, and an honorary trustee of Hiram College Board. Kovel is also the board chair of Cleveland’s Euclid Beach Park Carousel Society. The Carousel Society is working with Euclid Beach Park Now and WRHS to rebuild the historic 1910 Euclid Beach Park. The Carousel is being painstakingly restored by The Carousel Works in Mansfield, Ohio and will be installed and operational in the Glass Pavilion at the WRHS History Center on November 22, 2014.
“We are thrilled and honored to have Terry Kovel join with our other distinguished board members to help guide WRHS.
