Noted Game Developer Joins Staff of Summer Technology Camp
Orono, Maine (PRWEB) May 21, 2014 -- High Touch Courses announced today that Chuck Carter has joined the organization as a key instructor at its Summer Technology Camp.
Carter brings with him over 30 years of experience in game design and user experience development. His work on such projects as National Geographic Online and the iconic Myst and Command & Conquer video games was instrumental in their success and enduring appeal.
He joins High Touch Courses’ Summer Technology Camp to educate students in video game design and development. He will work directly with middle and high school students from across the United States in this multi-week, multi-disciplined technology camp hosted at the University of Maine.
“I’m excited to be a part of this opportunity,” said Carter, “and to teach kids something that is so close to my heart. I believe the skills we’ll be teaching here are key to our future. I wish something like this had existed when I was this age.”
High Touch Courses’ Summer Technology Camp brings middle and high school students from around the U.S. to the beautiful University of Maine campus for one to four weeks in July. Participants learn the basics of how to launch their own technology start-ups, develop video games, build websites, and more. From the first day, participants build, test, and launch their own products with mentoring from industry professionals. Computer skills and entrepreneurial spirit are fostered in a fun and encouraging environment.
