Novogradac Historic Tax Credit Mapping Tool Provides Interactive, Searchable Format
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) September 21, 2016 -- Novogradac & Company LLP today unveiled a new free online mapping tool that allows users to search and browse federal historic tax credit (HTC) investments made from 2001 through 2015. The tool uses Part 3 data from the National Park Service (NPS).
“This mapping tool makes it simple and clear to access information about HTC properties by a variety of categories,” said Michael J. Novogradac, CPA, the managing partner in the firm’s San Francisco office. “We’ve collected and presented the NPS’s data in a searchable mapping tool, along with other relevant community development data, which allows those in the HTC community to leverage 15 years of data about the properties.”
The tool, created by Novogradac, allows users to view detailed information about HTC properties by congressional district, state and eligibility criteria. “This tool’s flexibility makes it an extremely valuable addition to Novogradac & Company’s online resources,” said Peter Lawrence, Novogradac’s director of public policy and government relations in Washington, D.C. “Among other things, it provides an essential new tool for investors, developers, advocates and others to demonstrate to lawmakers and policymakers how the HTC has improved their communities and constituencies.”
Novogradac & Company LLP offers the HTC mapping tool at http://www.historictaxcredits.com. The tool includes information on total project cost, Washington Area Service Office (WASO) number, date of Part 3 approval, address and project description. There are additional data layers available, including 2016 low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC)-qualified census tracts and difficult development areas, new markets tax credit (NMTC)-eligible census tracts and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) eligibility.
The NPS data set includes information about more than 12,000 properties.
