Now a Solution to the Old Worn Out Intercom of Yesterday
(PRWEB) March 22, 2015 -- Today more people are buying homes that are “fixer uppers” according to The Wallstreet Journal article: America's Fixer-Upper Housing Market" http://www.wsj.com/articles/americas-fixer-upper-housing-market-heard-on-the-street-1424889470 and finding that there is an old outdated intercom system in the home that isn’t working or on its last leg.
Robert Pinell with Intrasonic Technology states: "There is a lot of old technology out there that is not working and should be replaced because it's actually a great communication device and can be used for safety to broadcast an emergency but also to play music throughout the home." Usually the old system is huge and has buttons, switches, and knobs, all which either don’t work at all or make a scratchy noise. So what is the solution? Tear out the system and wiring, repair sheet-rock and lose your doorbell?
Around 7 years ago Intrasonic Technology, Inc. of Dallas, Texas, http://www.intrasonictechnology.com began its quest to create a product that would be relatively inexpensive, easy to use and have the features that would be considered a bonus for any home owner that has an old intercom. The Retro Replacement Music Distribution and Intercom System was born.
While an electrician is needed to install 110V power to the master head unit, all the rest is fairly simple using the existing wiring and existing master housing. They have developed a variety of trim plates that cover the large hole left from the old system so usually there is no sheet rock repair involved and offer packages with room stations, a patio station and front doorbell to completely replace the old system.
So how does it sound? To the surprise of many, the sound is wonderful. Thirty-forty years of technology and the development of small speakers and electronics now produce quality sound. An MP3 input, the built-in AM/FM stations can be preset and an optional Bluetooth ™ receiver allow musical options. Replacing a system with a retro music distribution and intercom system is a great choice for home owners that want to spend less money and have music throughout their home.
