Now MU2 Certified, UbiCare Remains Committed to Making Us All Better
Boston, MA (PRWEB) February 17, 2015 -- Designed to help hospitals improve the quality, access and cost of care, UbiCare SmarteXp 3.0.1 has been certified for helping hospitals achieve Meaningful Use 2 for Patient-Specific Education Resources (Measure 10).
“UbiCare has a long-history of providing patient-, time- and problem-specific messaging,” says CEO Betsy Weaver. “Now, with certification as an approved vendor to provide MU2 patient-specific education resources and the capabilities it represents, we can further customize products and reporting to meet clients’ distinct Meaningful Use needs.”
The Affordable Care Act has mandated that hospitals not only institute efficient technology, but also use it to effectively impact care. Therefore, the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs administered by CMS provide financial incentives for the “meaningful use” of a hospital’s certified EHR technology (CEHRT) to improve patient care, and include the following stipulation (Measure 10).
“More than 10% of all unique patients admitted to the eligible hospital's (EH) or critical access hospital's (CAH's) inpatient or emergency departments are provided patient-specific education resources identified by certified EHR Technology.”
UbiCare technology helps hospitals meet MU2 Measure 10 in the following ways:
• UbiCare service-lines provide information according to patients’ specific problem list.
• UbiCare hospital clients have always had the ability to deliver patient-specific education resources through recognition of logic built into their EHR technology. Traditionally, this was accomplished manually, though it is ideally—and now ably—achieved through a digital connection.
• UbiCare products provide proof that the specific educational resources were delivered, when they were delivered, to which patients and how many patients while associating this information to an inpatient hospital stay—all in real-time. Together, this information allows clients to track their status with regard to their goal of “more than 10%.”
Next, UbiCare will help hospitals further exceed that 10% goal of meaningfully providing patient-specific resources. UbiCare is developing a new population health product that seamlessly delivers patient-specific health information before, during and after an inpatient stay. With UbiCare, hospitals and patients have the ability to achieve optimal outcomes, reduce readmissions and improve patient experience and satisfaction.
