NRG Entrusts National Signs With Stadium Rebranding
Houston, TX (PRWEB) July 18, 2014 -- NRG Park is a centerpiece in the Houston event calendar. It is home to the Houston Texans, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Grand Prix of Houston, and numerous conferences and conventions. However, it is only recently referred to as “NRG Park.” NRG is the parent company of Reliant Energy, a retail electricity provider headquartered in Houston, Texas. NRG decided to rebrand the naming rights for Reliant Park and Reliant Stadium to their parent company to reflect their broad based of energy products. NRG chose National Signs, Houston’s largest signage manufacture to complete the rebranding of this landmark sports and entertainment complex.
When undertaking such a massive project, under strict time constraints, it was important to use a company that really understands our needs, and that we can trust to get the job done. National Signs has “a lot of experience in the sports and entertainment industry” as local providers of signage for the Houston Astros and Minute Maid Park, the Houston Rockets and Toyota Center. National Signs was uniquely positioned, according to Hollenberg, due to their “existing knowledge of the facility, relationship with the client and proximity,” which were all advantageous for a quick turn around. NRG could not afford to waste any time due to the heavy year-round schedule at the facility.
One interesting aspect of this particular project is that in order to both speed up the project, the goal was to “remove old signage, refurbish it and refinish it,” which Hollenberg said not only saved time, but is also an “environmentally responsible way to do a rebranding.” By keeping the same font, and recycling as many letters from old signage as possible, NRG was able to accomplish dual goals of speed and being green.
Hollenberg remarks that, “being local allows a necessary level of flexibility when you have to work around a heavy schedule of events…and require specialized equipment.” National Signs nearby, modern manufacturing facility was crucial in helping NRG stay on schedule while simultaneously ensuring a quality final product.
National Signs is very excited that NRG decided to hire local for such a big project, and are proud of their reputation that has made their work on local landmarks like NRG Park possible. Their signage will now be a part of the NCAA Final Four in 2016, and the Super Bowl in 2017.
