Ntrepid Corporation Issued Patent for Secure Network Privacy System
Herndon, VA (PRWEB) February 21, 2014 -- Ntrepid Corporation announced today that the U.S. Patent Office has issued Ntrepid a patent covering its secure network privacy system.
Global computer networks, including the Internet, have become a virtual community where people send and receive electronic text, voice, and image messages to convey information, share ideas, express opinions, and negotiate and conduct business transactions. Few people realize how easily the bits and bytes of electronic communication are intercepted, tampered with, and traced back to the originating source. Online privacy invasion can result in serious monetary loss or reputation damage when research is blocked or future plans and confidential information are unintentionally exposed and attributed to an individual or organization.
Ntrepid’s invention, awarded patent number 8,615,795 B2 on Dec. 24, 2013, is a system that masks identifying characteristics of users and machines when communicating over various kinds of encrypted network connections, specifically to SSL encrypted websites. Ntrepid’s system masks many identifiable characteristics, including the originator’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system, time zone, email address, user name, and browser version. The patent covers any device that uses an active SSL certificate, including computer-to-computer, as well as telephone, facsimile, voiceover IP (VOIP), paging, and any other system where the nature of communication imparts identifying information about the originator of a message. It applies broadly to wired and wireless, intranet and Internet, local and wide area networks and any combination thereof.

The patent covers one of the core technologies in Ntrepid’s Internet Operations suite of products, which provide a variety of attribution control solutions. From basic IP address masking to geo-rectified egress control, Ntrepid manages the technical complexities of identity protection for its customers through its solutions. Ntrepid’s suite also includes virtualization, cryptography, and other tools to provide total protection.
Ntrepid Corporation holds other patents, including U.S. Patent no. 8,332,626 B2 for a method and apparatus for authentication token-based service redirection, U.S. Patent No. 8,375,434 B2, and AUS Patent No. 2005321876 for a system for protecting identity in a network environment. European Patent Convention Application 05 856 043.3 for a system for protecting identity in a network environment is pending. Ntrepid also holds U.S. Patent No. 8,306,807 B2 for its system for translating foreign language data in structured data sources.
