New York, NY (PRWEB) January 20, 2014 -- The Shakey Tables, a NYC funk rock band, is hosting its second annual benefit for New York Cares Coat Drive. The benefit will take place on January 25, 2014 at 8:30pm at Arlene’s Grocery, 95 Stanton Street, New York, NY. The cover charge will be waived for patrons that bring coats to donate to New York Cares annual drive, and The Shakey Tables will donate 100% of its proceeds from ticket sales/cover charges to benefit New York Cares. The Shakey Tables’ performance will feature songs from their upcoming album, A Shakey Table Situation, scheduled for release this spring.
New York Cares is New York City’s largest volunteer organization. New York Cares runs vital programs for 1,300 nonprofits, public schools, and city agencies to help people in need throughout the five boroughs. Every dollar donated to New York Cares amounts to $6 in service to the community.
"We appreciate having a New York band call attention to the ongoing needs of other New Yorkers," said Gary Bagley, New York Cares Executive Director. "New York Cares is in the midst of a severe shortage of coat donations for our 25th Annual Coat Drive, so we’re hoping events like this one with The Shakey Tables brings some new people forward to help out."
