NYMBUS Appoints Kai Ravnborg as Senior Vice President of Product
Miami, FL (PRWEB) February 23, 2016 -- NYMBUS, the world’s first complete, full-stack, API driven core processing platform, today announced the appointment of Kai Ravnborg as senior vice president (SVP) of product – credit unions. With more than 35 years of experience working with credit unions, Ravnborg will spearhead all efforts to ensure these financial institutions (FIs) are well-equipped with the necessary core processing technology to uphold their competitive status in today’s new digital age.
Ravnborg will be responsible for helping direct the evolution of the NYMBUS core by working closely with credit unions and developers to ensure the core processing platform is continuously offering credit unions all the functionality they need to operate efficiently and effectively.
“We are honored to welcome Kai – a credit union icon – to our team here at NYMBUS,” said CEO Alex Lopatine. “With his wealth of knowledge in this space paired with the passion he has for fintech, I am confident both our product team and credit union clients will benefit greatly from his new product strategies, core tactics and organizational experience.”
Ravnborg’s experience runs deep in the credit union movement. In 1980 he helped launch a credit union and played a crucial role in keeping it operational. His passion for the industry led him to sit on many board seats for credit unions over the years. Additionally, Ravnborg founded the highly successful core data processing software company, CU Solutions, in 1982. There he served as owner and president for 20 years and participated in more than 300 core system installations.
CU Solutions was deemed the number one core software company in the industry by Filene Research Institute and CUES in 2000 and 2001, before being acquired by Jack Henry & Associates in 2002. Subsequently, in 2006, Ravnborg founded KMR, a company focused on developing customized organizational and knowledge management software to help credit unions better manage their resources and operations.
“I have always had a passion and drive to help small and mid-sized credit unions succeed in the competitive financial space, whether through implementing new technology or developing highly functional software,” Ravnborg said. “NYMBUS shares my passion and drive, and they have a firm grasp on the future of the financial services industry. I am excited to move forward with the team at NYMBUS in producing outstanding solutions for the new digital age. I am proud to join the ‘Rebel Alliance’.”
Ravnborg’s career accomplishments include a long list of technology ‘firsts.’ He developed the first PC-based system as well as wrote the first Windows-based system for credit unions, developed NCUA’s ALMC system and wrote the first PC/IP-based online ATM/POS processor with response times in the milliseconds instead of seconds.
