O’Meara, Leer, Wagner & Kohl salutes firm Attorney and former Marine Corps Sergeant Brian McSherry
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 -- Leaders of O’Meara, Leer, Wagner and Kohl said today the military service record of one of the Minneapolis law firm’s employees is giving them an even greater appreciation of Veterans Day this year. And they plan several activities to honor that service. Attorney Brian McSherry served in the United States Marine Corps (Reserve) from 1992 to 1999, rising to the rank of Sergeant in his reserve unit, which was stationed at Fort Snelling in Minnesota. McSherry joined the firm in 2006 and now practices in the civil litigation field.
“It’s something that I did that I was very proud of,” McSherry said, “and I think that the veterans of the United States military continue to put everything on the line. It’s an incredible sacrifice—the ultimate sacrifice…and I think there should be more recognition for people that have served.” Community Giving Director Sherrie Hunt says she couldn’t agree more. She is organizing a clothing drive at the firm for the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and Vietnam Veterans of America organizations. “It’s a great way for employees to clean out and a great cause for us to donate to,” she said.
Hunt is also putting together an office display of photos and memorabilia to honor McSherry and veterans in “our immediate and extended O’Meara, Leer, Wagner and Kohl family.” McSherry was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal, as well as other commendations. “I am proud of my service and will always adhere to the Marine Corps motto, ‘Semper Fidelis’ (always faithful),” McSherry said.
