Oakland Marriott City Center Hotel Proud to Host Annual Feeding of the Homeless in Oakland
Oakland, CA (PRWEB) December 18, 2013 -- The annual Holiday Dinner event in Oakland will be held once again at the Oakland Marriott City Center hotel on December 23, 2013 from 11am to 2pm. Presented by the City of Oakland’s Department of Human Services & Community Action Partnership, Communities United Committee and the Emergency Food Providers Advisory Committee, this annual event serves holiday meals and provides services to combat hunger and alleviate homelessness to Oakland residents.
Over 1,500 low-income families, individuals, homeless and senior citizens are expected to attend this event at the Oakland Marriott City Center and will be served a free holiday turkey feast while enjoying live entertainment. Patrons also have the option of receiving a winter coat if needed.
“We are happy to host this annual event at our hotel,” said Marriott General Manager, Lisa Kershner. “It’s important to us to give back to our community and work with the City of Oakland to provide this holiday meal to residents each year.”
