Oakland Zoo Turns on ZooLights, an East Bay Holiday Tradition
Oakland, CA (PRWEB) November 24, 2015 -- December 4, 2015…Oakland Zoo is set to turn on a holiday tradition known as ZooLights, a festival of lights, on Friday, December 4. This East Bay community event runs 5:30pm – 9:00pm each night, beginning December 4 through January 3, 2016; however, ZooLights is closed on December 24 and 25. The 2015 ZooLights display features designs by Impact Lighting and music powered by 96.5 KOIT, 95.7 The Game, Q102.1, 98.5 KFOX, and 102.9 KBLX.
Dozens of colorfully lit animal-themed structures are carefully situated throughout Oakland Zoo for families to enjoy. The main attraction each evening is a Light Show with a mashup of memorable movie lines, unforgettable Christmas characters, and tis the season tunes. Starlit pathways lead guests through a candy cane lane themed Adventure Landing, featuring the Outback Express Adventure Train, a decked out train ride sure to inspire a jolly time on a dark winter night. Plus, Santa makes appearances on select nights, check Oakland Zoo’s web calendar for specific dates.
Don’t have time for dinner? ZooLights “Go Bites” are a supper solution. The five dollar specialty snacks make it convenient for guests to walk and talk while devouring chicken satay skewers, fried mac n’ cheese bites, Kinder’s ball tip sliders, chicken wings, and more. Warm up with hot beverages like hot chocolate, cider, and coffee, also available for purchase.
