Ohio Custom Home Builder Wayne Homes Raises Over $12k for Charity
Uniontwon, OH (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- Wayne Homes, a company that specializes in on-your-lot custom homes, has announced that they have raised and distributed more than $12,000 in donations for local charities during the company’s Random Acts of Kindness campaign. The campaign, which benefitted more than a dozen local charities, raised donations including food, clothes, cash, personal items and more.
“The Random Acts of Kindness campaign is one of the highlights of the year for our company. It’s an opportunity for our partners, customers, and employees to come together with a shared commitment and compassion for the community. It’s something that our team members look forward to every year,” said Wayne Homes President George Murphy.
During the campaign, which took place over the holidays, the team from each Wayne Homes Model Home Center chose a local charity to sponsor. For more than a month, each Model Home Center became a drop-off point for donations from employees, partners, homeowners, and visitors. Local charities included Safe Harbour Domestic Violence Shelter, Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Toys for Tots, and more.
Additionally, employees in the company’s main office donated gifts and clothes for 20 local children in need.
For every new contract that was signed during that time, the company also donated $100 to a charity of the buyer’s choice. Donations were made on behalf of buyers to the American Cancer Society, Autism Speaks, Make-a-Wish Foundation, the Humane Society, and more. According to Vice-President of Marketing Maurie Jones, the Random Acts of Kindness campaign is an event that often makes an impact all year.
“This is the sixth year we have held the Random Acts of Kindness campaign and during that time we’ve seen an increased awareness of how easy it can be to make a positive impact within the community. Many of our employees, partners, and homeowners have become more involved with local charities throughout the year as a result of our Random Acts of Kindness campaign. We feel honored to participate in some small way to the tremendous contribution that each of these organizations are making in the community,” says Jones.
