Ohio State Football Tickets for Orange Bowl against Clemson Available at Choice 1 Tickets
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) December 28, 2013 -- The 2013 season finished painfully short of the ultimate goal for coach Urban Meyer and fans with Ohio State football tickets, as the Buckeyes fell to Michigan State in the Big The Championship Game, just one win shy of a perfect 13-0 season and a spot in the BCS title game in Pasadena.
However, a spot in the Discover Orange Bowl against No. 12 Clemson is certainly a worthy consolation prize.
In what should be a high-scoring affair between two explosive offenses, the No. 7 Buckeyes will look to finish their season on a high note and put the loss to the Spartans in the rearview mirror.
“A lot of fans are only going to remember that last game, but Ohio State really deserves a ton of credit for how well they have played not only this year, but the entire time that Urban Meyer has been the head coach,” said Choice 1 Tickets marketing manager Brent Larsen. “Winning 24 games in a row in this era is almost unheard of, so supporters have a lot to be proud of.”
The game could also mark the final game in the career of standout Buckeyes QB Braxton Miller, as the All-Big Ten performer could forego his final season of eligibility to enter the 2014 NFL Draft. If that is indeed the case, Miller will certainly leave a legacy as one of the most dynamic signal callers to ever play for the Buckeyes.
“Fans with Ohio State football tickets are still probably a little upset with Miller and his inability to throw the ball in the Big Ten Championship Game,” Larsen said. “But there is no denying that Miller was a huge part of the Buckeyes’ success the past two seasons.”
Another player with a big decision to make after the bowl game is All-American LB Ryan Shazier. The Butkus Award finalist has indicated a desire to stay for his senior season, which would be a huge boost to the Buckeyes’ 2014 campaign. All-Big Ten CB Bradley Roby has a similar decision to make, though he is expected to turn pro after the Orange Bowl.
The Ohio State defense has an extremely difficult task in trying to slow down the Clemson offensive machine. Tajh Boyd finished his senior season as the school’s all-time leading passer, and leads an offense that averaged over 40 points and 500 yards a game.
Boyd’s favorite target is All-American WR Sammy Watkins, who bounced back from a disappointing sophomore campaign by catching 85 passes for 1,237 yards and 10 touchdowns. Roby is likely to match up with Watkins for the majority of the contest.
For the Buckeyes offense, the biggest task is slowing down Clemson DE Vic Beasley. The standout pass rusher is a terror off the edge, notching 12 sacks and 19 tackles for loss on the season. It will be up to standout LT Jack Mewhort and the rest of the OSU O-line to slow down Beasley and the Tigers’ aggressive defensive front.
After being ineligible for the postseason a year ago, fans with Ohio State football tickets have to be excited to see their team still playing this bowl season. It may not be the game that the Buckeyes expected from themselves a little less than a month ago, but an exciting shootout against Clemson at SunLife Stadium is certainly a continuation of the positive momentum that Meyer has built in his two years on the job.
