Oil Refining Company Experiences Success with TabWare CMMS

CRC is the only crude oil refinery in southern Kentucky and proudly provides small and medium oil producers and gatherers with transportation savings, favorable crude oil rates and rapid payments that surpass petroleum company standard practices. Following a thorough company overhaul in 2012, the 80-year-old plant is now processing crude oil and producing high-quality finished fuel products. At full capacity, the Somerset refinery can produce 23 million gallons of gasoline, 6 million gallons of kerosene, 21 million gallons of diesel fuel and 30 million gallons of heating oils within one year.
CRC began the initial TabWare implementation in January 2013, and within 6 months they were tracking work orders and equipment history. Next, CRC rolled-out TabWare for spare parts inventory and purchasing management, and now they are using the complete TabWare functionality, including purchase order receiving and invoice matching. So far, CRC has defined their equipment parent-child hierarchy for 1,400 equipment items, and the refinery depends heavily on TabWare for tracking process safety documents linked to specific equipment items and any associated work orders. In addition to utilizing the solution to help manage refinery assets and maintenance operations, TabWare help CRC track major capital projects, as well. TabWare also generates preventive maintenance work orders to maintain pipeline assets, such as valves and fittings, and the PM scheduling module is heavily utilized to schedule and track environmental compliance inspections.
