Oklahoma Film, “The Posthuman Project,” Announces DVD/Blu-Ray Release Party
Oklahoma City (PRWEB) June 18, 2015 -- The Historic Oklahoma City Farmers Public Market is proud to present “The Posthuman Project” DVD/Blu-Ray release party on June 24 at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
"The Posthuman Project" will be screened in the main ballroom at the Oklahoma City Farmers Public Market, featuring a special musical appearance by folk band O Fidelis and a Q&A session with members of the cast and crew following the film.
Mim's Bakery & Nosh, Smokin' Okies BBQ, and St. Paddy Cakes will be on hand offering food truck cuisine. The bar will feature local beers from Anthem Brewery and Coop Brewery.
“The Posthuman Project,” directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Kyle Roberts, is a story about Denny Burke—a high school senior who is about to graduate. Senior year has been one bad thing after another: a broken leg, a broken heart, and —worst of all— a broken home.
With four of his closest friends, Denny goes on one last rock-climbing trip to prove he is ready to start his adult life... On their trip the five teens receive a genetic boost beyond anything they'd ever imagined.
Denny's soon faced with the first big decision of his adult life: does he give up these powers and stay a normal teenager, or does he keep them...and graduate from the human race?
The teen superhero flick won “Best Oklahoma Film” at its 2014 deadCENTER Film Festival premiere in Oklahoma City and screened at film festivals around the world—including Comic Con International Film Festival in San Diego, Calif.
“This film is tonally influenced by John Hughes movies of the 1980s and Marvel’s X-Men,” Roberts said. “I’m very excited and passionate about merging these two genres together. ‘The Posthuman Project’ is the next step in independent filmmaking. It’s a timeless production; one we hope resonates with any generation and inspires a new one.”
“The Posthuman Project” was written by comic-shop owner and journalist Matthew Price and New York Times bestselling author Sterling Gates (“Superman: New Krypton,” “Superman: War of the Supermen”).
The film was produced by Vahid Farzaneh of Freestyle Marketing + Films (“Hollis,” “No One Knows") as well as Sha'ree Green and Wendy Parker of WeerNProduction.
DVDs and Blu-Rays will be on sale at the event. “The Posthuman Project” is also available on Video-On-Demand platforms, such as iTunes and Amazon Instant Video.
