Olshan Properties Launches Olshan Outreach
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 16, 2014 -- Olshan Properties, one of the country’s leading private owners, developers and managers of commercial real estate, today announced the kick-off of Olshan Outreach - an employee-driven program including a paid day of service designed to assist leading not-for-profit causes in the communities in which Olshan Properties operates.
This year, Olshan Outreach commenced its activities in June, lending its support to the Fight Against Hunger. Olshan Outreach team members’ various initiatives will benefit the hungry in cities and towns including: Atlanta, Ga. (Sheraton Suites Galleria/Akers Mill Square Shopping Center), Columbus, Ohio (Courtyard by Marriott at Easton, Hilton Columbus at Easton and Residence Inn by Marriott at Easton), Dayton, Ohio (The Greene Town Center), Hampton Va. (Peninsula Town Center), Kansas City, Mo. (Zona Rosa Town Center), Marco Island, Fla. (Marco Island Hilton Beach Resort and Spa), Milwaukee, Wis. (Bayshore Town Center) and our corporate offices in New York City, Columbus, Ohio, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Cincinnati, Ohio.
Olshan Properties has a long history of giving back to the communities in which it operates. In the past the company has contributed to numerous non-profit organizations benefiting health, housing, the environment, education and hunger. Throughout 2014, a year in which Olshan Properties rebranded and unified its diverse portfolio of commercial properties under one corporate standard, over 1,000 Olshan employees are excited to band together in aid of a single cause. Among other support, Olshan Properties will provide participating team members a full day’s paid leave to support the local effort.

Atlanta, Ga.
Staff and family of Olshan Properties’ Sheraton Suites Galleria are inviting participation from local area churches, daycare centers, business connections and local businesses to join them in collecting canned goods throughout the month of June for delivery to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
Columbus & Dayton, Ohio
On June 5 team members from Olshan Properties’ corporate offices in Columbus kicked off the effort by delivering Meals on Wheels in coordination with the Life Care Alliance and donated their service later in the day in its food pantry, Groceries to Go.
On June 29, on the occasion of The Greene Town Center’s annual Family Movie Night, employees of Olshan Properties’ three Ohio-based hotels, Courtyard by Marriott at Easton, Hilton Columbus at Easton and Residence Inn by Marriott at Easton will be joining the Olshan Properties’ team at The Greene in Dayton to unload food donations collected in advance by hotel employees, The Greene employees and those donated during The Greene’s Movie Night from customers, local retailers and restaurants. Donations will then be loaded by Olshan Outreach team members onto a food truck destined for the Dayton Food Bank.
As the year in Olshan Outreach’s Fight Against Hunger progresses, The Greene will continue its support of the Dayton Food Bank supplying 8 to 10 volunteers at a time on the second Wednesday of each month starting June 10 at the Dayton Food Bank’s warehouse as well as providing volunteers to man the Food Bank’s mobile farmer’s markets as needed and to help prepare 1,000 “Good-to-Go Backpacks” to help supplement the dietary needs of local kids identified as in need.
Hampton, Va.
Olshan Outreach team members from Peninsula Town Center met on June 16 to unload food and set up a food distribution center at Langley Village Senior Apartments in Hampton, Va., a designated beneficiary of the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank.
Starting November 16, Peninsula Town Center will host a 3-day food drive, Mayflower Marathon, partnering with local radio, FM99.
Indianapolis, Ind.
Olshan team members in Indianapolis will take June 20 to serve the guests and residents of Wheeler Mission Ministries, a local area food bank, by preparing warm lunch trays, handing out beverages and helping regular volunteers and staff to clean up.
Kansas City, Mo.
Olshan Outreach team members from the Zona Rosa Town Center sorted food donated to Harvester’s warehouse, the food bank for greater Kansas City on June 13.
On October 12 Zona Rosa will host the 4th Annual Bill Cross 5K Walk/Run for BackSnack, an initiative of Feed Northland Kids which benefits kids’ weekend dietary needs. Feed Northland Kids has been a beneficiary of Zona Rosa’s Eat Week restaurant week events going on four years.
Marco Island, Fla.
Olshan Outreach team members employed at the Marco Island Hilton Beach Resort and Spa invited friends and family to join them in donating nonperishable food items in aid of Renew Food Pantry. Decorated boxes were set up in designated areas throughout the hotel for 13 days through June 13.
Milwaukee, Wis.
Bayshore Town Center hosts the JCC Food Pantry Food Drive between June 13 and July 4 at the Rotunda. This year, the event is a ‘Peanut Butter Drive’ which seeks to match a jar of jelly for every jar of peanut butter donated.
In conjunction with the JCC Food Drive, Bayshore’s Rotunda will host the preview exhibit for October’s Canstruction. The preview exhibit of this unique charity which hosts competitions, exhibitions and events showcasing colossal structures made entirely out of full cans of food, will be built on June 13 and left on display for 3 weeks during which time it will also be the drop off point for the Peanut Butter drive. All food dropped off at the exhibit including the cans in the exhibit will be donated to the JCC Food Pantry at the end of the exhibit.
On June 18, Olshan Outreach team members at Bayshore will be packaging, labeling and sorting products in the Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin warehouse.
New York City
Olshan Outreach team members from the firm’s New York City headquarters office will work in conjunction with the city's major supplier of emergency food, Food Bank to break down bulk food containers weighing 500 pounds or more, then sort and repack the food into boxes that will be shipped out to organizations all over New York City . The outreach will be conducted at the Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx. Food Bank distributes more than 74 million pounds of food every year—providing 400,000 free meals per day to New Yorkers in need.
