Oly-Ola’s Six-Inch High Teco-Edg™ Edge Restraint Contains Living Roof Garden Planters Topping Bus Shelters in Boston’s Hyde Park Neighborhood
Villa Park, IL (PRWEB) July 22, 2015 -- Oly-Ola Edging’s Teco-Edg™, an innovative 6-inch high 100% recycled L-shaped edge restraint with specially-engineered drainage slots, was recently installed on two uniquely-designed living roof garden planters that top bus shelters in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood. These living roof garden installations are a part of the Fairmount Line Bus Shelter Living Roof Initiative, a partnership between the Fairmount/Indigo Line CDC Collaborative and Land Escapes Design Inc. Teco-Edg is used to contain the roof garden plants that include several inches of lightweight roof media and drought-tolerant plants like sedum, as well as native wildflowers to encourage pollinators, over Xeroflor Green Roof System. Each roof is designed to retain over 24 gallons of water.
Funding for this project was provided by an Environmental Protection Agency Healthy Communities Grant that is installing living roofs with native plant species on 7 City of Boston bus shelters this year.
