Omaha’s Championship Team is on 1620 The Zone
Omaha, NE (PRWEB) April 26, 2017 -- As the NBA and NHL begin the exciting process of determining their leagues’ champions, one Omaha radio station is celebrating one of the most victorious sports teams in the nation—the sports talk figures and game analysts of 1620 The Zone.
In 2016, several of the The Zone’s major players took home national honors from organizations around the country.
“Sharp and Benning in the Morning” has won two major recognitions for their hard work and insight throughout 2016. The show’s co-hosts—Gary Sharp and Damon Benning—were named as two of the Top Local Sports Talkers in America by Radio Ink. The show was also honored by Barrett Sports Media (BSM) as one of the Top 20 Mid-Market Sports Radio Morning Shows for 2016 because of its consistent quality of content.
BSM didn’t stop with Sharp and Benning, however. They also named Nick Bahe—host of “Game Time with Nick Bahe”—as one of the Top 20 Mid-Market Sports Radio Midday Shows. Nick also received a nod from Radio Ink as one of the Top Local Sports Talkers in America. In addition, Nick Bahe has been honored with the prestigious title of Nebraska’s 2016 Sportscaster of the Year. Awarded by the National Sports Media Association, the honor came for his work on 1620 The Zone’s “Game Time with Nick Bahe,” as well as for his coverage on KETV and his analyst work for both the Creighton Bluejays and the Big East.
Rounding out the honors, Dave Tepper was named as one of the nation’s Top 20 Mid-Market Program Directors of 2016 by BSM, for his track record of success in Omaha.
“The Zone team works tirelessly day in and out for the benefit of their audience,” said Andy Ruback, General Manager of NRG Media, “That hard work and dedication makes these honors well-deserved.”
