Once Upon A Ballet, an Innovation Ballet School in Westminster, CO, Hosts Their First Annual Mother/Daughter Tea Party Fundraiser on April 25, 2015
Westminster, CO (PRWEB) March 31, 2015 -- Once Upon A Ballet, the innovative ballet school serving the Northwest Denver area, is preparing for their first annual Mother/Daughter Tea Party Fundraiser to raise money for costumes. The event, scheduled for April 25th at 3:00 PM, is set to be an afternoon of food, fun, and dance. Any aspiring ballerina and their parents are welcome to come and enjoy the festivities together. In an effort to make dance more affordable for all families, ticket proceeds will go toward dance costumes for their performance of Alice in Wonderland in May 2015.
Once Upon A Ballet is a ballet school based in Westminster, CO where children can learn their first dance steps through fairy tales and classical ballet stories.
“Since I was about 13, it's been my dream to have my own ballet school, and Once Upon A Ballet is just that,” owner Ashley R. Smith reminisces. “Our students really love it here, which is most important. We're teaching them ballet, but we're also teaching them the joy of dancing - of movement and art. We teach them steps, but we also let them be fairies and princesses, and we teach them about the actual ballet stories that come from such a rich history.”
The studio follows the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 9 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The students, from age 3 and up, are encouraged to learn the basics of ballet while bringing fairy tales to life. The studio is constantly expanding their course offerings and will soon offer courses in tap, hip hop, jazz, and beyond.
The first Mother/Daughter Tea Party promises to be an unforgettable event that both mom and daughter will cherish. Don’t forget to meet the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, and The Queen of Hearts as they join Alice for this very important date. Tea, lemonade, snacks and prizes will be provided, as well as the chance to take pictures with the whole fairy tale team.
“My favorite thing about school events is seeing everyone come together - both students and non-students,” Smith said. “It's a nice opportunity to get to know our students better, as well as others in our community who support us.”
Everyone who buys a ticket to the event will be entered to win a free month of ballet classes at Once Upon A Ballet school. They’ll also be giving away some movie passes, gift certificates, little tutu skirts, wands, and tiaras.
All ages are welcome and non-students are encouraged to attend. Tickets are $32 per mother/daughter duo and $16 per additional child or adult. Grandparents are welcome too. Tickets will be available until April 11th. For more information and to book tickets go to http://www.onceuponaballet.org/alice.
