OneLogin Named Major Player in IDC’s 2014 Identity Management MarketScape
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- OneLogin, the innovator in enterprise identity management, today announced it has been named a "major player" in IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Federated Identity Management and Single Sign-On 2014 Vendor Assessment (March, 2014).
OneLogin provides an on-demand, cloud-based solution consisting of single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, directory integration, user provisioning, and a catalog of thousands of pre-integrated applications. Adopted by some of the world’s most well-known enterprises, the solution offers fast, easy, and secure identity management in the cloud.
In assessing offerings from 13 vendors, including conducting interviews with customers, the study by the independent analyst firm identifies several strategies that have contributed to vendor success, including:
● A holistic and integrated approach to federated single sign-on (SSO) delivery, including both SaaS and on-premises, extending to remote, home, satellite, and branch workers
● The ability to leverage new technologies, such as cloud, mobility, big data and social media, to develop new identity-aware solutions and secure business models and incorporate line of business managers into the identity lifecycle
● Extension of federated SSO capabilities to third parties and ISPs, especially in the cloud, including training, business development, and marketing support in addition to developing a products and services portfolio
● Continued expansion into emerging markets
● A focus on consistent operational excellence
The report also notes that a “fresh round of funding allows OneLogin to focus on its roadmap, which includes mobile application management, risk-based authentication, social SSO, a SCIM interface, and a cloud directory that the vendor claims can act as a full replacement for AD and LDAP.”
In reviewing its survey of OneLogin customers, IDC reports that “OneLogin was noted for ease of connecting cloud-based applications to an Active Directory server and simple, rapid deployment that included two-factor authentication.” One customer comments that “the product is easy to ‘skin’ for look and feel and simple to deploy.”
“In the long-run, the ultimate value to the enterprise of cloud, SaaS, mobility, and BYOD will be tied to an organization’s ability to offer all these appealing capabilities while successfully and cost-effectively managing the security risks,” said Thomas Pedersen, CEO and cofounder of OneLogin. “OneLogin makes it easy to rapidly begin protecting enterprise data by securing access to it from any device in any location. We believe this combination of powerful protection, simplicity of design, and ease of deployment and use has made OneLogin a major player in our industry.”
