Online Giving Continues to Grow for Charities Across the Country
Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 27, 2014 -- Digital philanthropy is on the rise. The latest online giving statistics released by Network for Good show a steady climb in online donations over the past year. http://www..networkforgood.org/digitalgivingindex [The 2013 Digital Giving Index __title__ ] analyzes donations to nonprofits across multiple online fundraising channels.
Network for Good provides an inside look at the $190 million in donations made to over 40,000 charities through its online giving platform in 2013. This analysis includes statistics on donations to Network for Good’s nonprofit customers through their own branded donation pages as well as to other nonprofits through over 70 corporate partner websites and Network for Good’s giving portal at NetworkforGood.org.
This year’s Digital Giving Index illustrates surges in giving for disaster relief and year-end donations, including #GivingTuesday, an online “day of giving” that is now in its second year. The report also shows an increase in peer-to-peer fundraising and employee giving, as Network for Good continues to make it easy for nonprofits to acquire new donors in a variety of ways. The data also reinforces the idea that the giving experience matters, branded donation pages—pages created to match an organization’s website—outperform their generic counterparts, with branded pages receiving gifts that are 30% larger on average than donations made through generic pages.
“In this noisy, hyper-connected world, it’s vital for nonprofits to reinforce their message at each touch point with supporters,” says Kate Olsen, Vice President of Strategic Projects at Network for Good. “That includes making an emotional connection through a branded donation experience, rather than relying on a third-party payment site to represent your mission.”
Network for Good is the leading online giving platform and has a unique perspective on the experience and behaviors of donors across several distinct channels including individual charity websites, charity portals, employee giving, and peer-to-peer fundraising sites. The Digital Giving Index provides online fundraising trends to nonprofits seeking to strengthen relationships with donors and to corporate partners who wish to offer charitable giving in consumer or employee initiatives.
