Online Social Media Course to Aid Self-Published Authors
Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) October 23, 2013 -- SocialSpine, an online course offering social media help to self-published authors, launched Tuesday.
The course instructs independently-published authors how to use social media to find more readers for their books.
SocialSpine outlines how indie authors can optimize their websites for search engines, attract attention from influential book bloggers and build a social media fan base.
“I really admire anyone who has decided to publish their book independently,” said Lisa Parkin, SocialSpine founder. “It takes an incredible amount of work and dedication, and I’m trying to help authors' books get in the hands of invested readers through the program.”
Along with the videos, the course hosts weekly conference calls to answer questions and offers an online forum where authors can network and connect.
“I’ve seen how social media can increase awareness and exposure of businesses and brands and know the same can be done for indie authors,” Parkin said. “Social media is only growing and gaining more power and momentum, and independent authors simply cannot afford missing out.”
The SocialSpine program also offers lessons on handling negative book reviews, reaching out to influential bloggers and how to create keyword-rich book profiles on sites like Amazon and Goodreads.
According to the Bookseller, 30 percent of ebooks in the online market place could be self-published. A 2013 Bowker Market Research study found that the top two ways readers found new ebooks was through personal recommendations and reading a sample of the book online.
