Only limited tickets left for EAA's Dec. 11 Wright Brothers Banquet, featuring Erik Lindbergh
Oshkosh, Wisconsin (PRWEB) December 02, 2015 -- Only limited tickets remain for EAA’s annual Wright Brothers Memorial Banquet on Friday, December 11, which this year features keynote speaker Erik Lindbergh, grandson of legendary aviator Charles Lindbergh, who in 1927 became the first man to make a solo, non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean that ignited a frenzy of aviation interest.
The dinner will be held in the EAA AirVenture Museum Founders’ Wing, which honors Paul and Audrey Poberezny, the founding couple of the Experimental Aircraft Association. The annual dinner celebrates the achievement of the Wright Brothers, who on Dec. 17, 1903, made the first successful powered, controlled flight by flying over the sands of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
Erik Lindbergh is CEO of Powering Imagination, which is exploring a clean, quiet aviation future through electric-powered flight. He shares his grandfather’s vision of using aviation and technology for promoting progress and sustainability. Lindbergh is an accomplished pilot in his own right, flying across the Atlantic in a homebuilt Lancair aircraft to celebrate the 75th anniversary of his grandfather’s historic journey, forming LEAP to encourage electric flight, and playing an active role with the XPRIZE to promote aviation and spaceflight.

Past Wright Brothers Memorial Banquets at EAA have included such notable speakers as renowned aviation and spacecraft designer Burt Rutan; the late Scott Crossfield, the first man to fly at twice the speed of sound; and Apollo 8 commander Frank Borman.
