OpenEd’s Common Core Quest Now Live on the Chrome Web Store
Los Gatos, Calif. (PRWEB) February 24, 2015 -- To support the more than 1.2 million Chromebooks in use in U.S. K-12 schools,OpenEd today announced that its free app, Common Core Quest, is now live on the Chrome Web Store. Also available on the App Store and Google Play, Common Core Quest is a comprehensive quiz and instructional resource tool that spans 100 percent of the Common Core State Standards.
In addition, the world’s largest catalog of Common Core-aligned resources is now optimized for the Chrome OS. This includes the site’s new Mastery Chart, which allows teachers to identify students quickly and easily who need additional instruction and link them to OpenEd resources to get them back on track for success. Tens of thousands of students around the country use Common Core Quest on their own to take quizzes to demonstrate mastery of the standards’ math and English/language arts skills. Now with the power of OpenEd’s recently added Homework tool, teachers can assign homework to students to complete on their Chromebooks, and it is returned to them automatically graded in the Mastery Chart.
“Every day, thousands of new teachers sign up for OpenEd to use our standards-aligned resources and tools with their students. We optimized our free App and our site for the popular Chromebooks so students and teachers have access to our tools and resources on any device they have access to – at school or home,” said Adam Blum, OpenEd CEO and co-founder. “The development of the new Mastery Chart combined with our Homework tool is illustrative of our ongoing commitment to continuing to provide new tools that maximize teacher time and accelerate student achievement.”
Middle school math teacher Brandon Dorman, Fresno Unified School District, is finding the Mastery Chart is providing tremendous efficiency in keeping track of students’ progress and closing any learning gaps. “I can see how students are progressing and provide the interventions they need in real time,” said Dorman. “Keeping them moving toward their learning goals is absolutely seamless.”
Earlier this year, OpenEd added Homework, a valuable new online tool that transforms how teachers select, assign, review and grade homework. With OpenEd Homework, teachers save valuable time as they reinforce classroom instruction and ensure that their students meet today’s rigorous standards.
OpenEd leads the ed tech industry in offering the most high-quality resources – more than a million – used by teachers every day: lesson plans, assessments, homework assignments, educational videos and games. Using OpenEd’s tools, educators can create custom quizzes, identify learning gaps and link them to resources. The company’s unique machine-learning technology, combined with subject matter expert curation, aligns resources to standards and micro-concepts within standards. The vast majority of the content is free.
