Operation Supply Drop Charity Partners with GEXCon for Inaugural Convention, Featuring CS:GO 5K Open and 2 Star City Games Super IQ Tournaments
Fredericksburg, VA (PRWEB) June 09, 2016 -- Military charity Operation Supply Drop (OSD) - the world’s most generationally relevant support organization for veterans and active duty military - today announces their attendance as the official charity of the inaugural GEXCon - The Gaming and Entertainment Experience Convention in Fredericksburg, Virginia from July 23-24, 2016.
Following their LEc² League of Legends event held last year, FIAD Entertainment Group, LLC. will host the all-new GEXCon - two non-stop days of gaming competition and gamer-focused convention activities. GEXCon will be held at the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center, headlined by the GEXCon Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) 5K Open and two Star City Games Magic: The Gathering Super IQ tournaments.
The GEXCon CS: GO 5K Open will pit up to twenty-four five-player teams against each other for a portion of the $5,000 Prize Pool. Selected matches will be streamed on Twitch and shown at various viewing areas throughout the convention center. The semi-finals and finals will be played on the Competition Stage in the Ballroom of the convention center with a live audience and streamed on Twitch.
In addition to the competitive tournaments mentioned, there will be plenty of casual tournaments for games such as League of Legends, Overwatch, HearthStone, Rocket League and Super Smash Wii-U. GEXCon will have a BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) LAN area, an arcade, an Oculus Rift VR booth, exhibitors, panels, meet and greets and more.
