OPIC's Annual HMO Reports Are Now Available
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) November 30, 2016 -- The Texas Office of Public Insurance Counsel (OPIC) has released its annual HMO reports: Comparing Texas HMOs 2016 and The Guide to Texas HMO Quality: 2016.
Comparing Texas HMOs 2016 is OPIC’s annual Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) report card. Consumers can review the publication to find out how current HMO enrollees rate their satisfaction with their doctors, their access to care, and the HMO’s administration. The report also includes information on consumer rights, an analysis of complaint data collected by the Texas Department of Insurance, and information on appeals.
The Guide to Texas HMO Quality: 2016 compares HMO performance on quality of care measures, including significant health issues such as cancer, heart disease, smoking, diabetes, the care of pregnant women, and the care of children. Consumers can use the publication to evaluate HMOs based on their individual health needs. OPIC produces and publishes this guide through an agreement with the Department of State Health Services’ Texas Health Care Information Collection (THCIC).
