OPSWAT Announces Partnership with Portnox
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 17, 2015 -- OPSWAT today announced a partnership with Portnox, introducing an integration between the GEARS platform for advanced endpoint compliance checking and compromised device detection and Portnox’s award winning network access control (NAC) solution. The plug-and-play integration of Portnox and OPSWAT GEARS offers customers powerful device visibility, including BYOD users and guest devices, as well as compliance validation and control for securing and managing networks under today’s complex regulatory conditions.
Portnox NAC is a centrally deployed, agent-less solution that provides the enterprise 100% real-time device awareness and network access control across all access layers. Portnox’s ability to illuminate and control devices across every fragment of the network results in the most accurate and real-time view of devices, empowering organizations to make smarter, more efficient and more secure decisions. The new integration with GEARS allows Portnox customers to gather advanced compliance information about devices for use in access decisions. For example, GEARS provides details about whether a device is protected by antivirus software, whether the device’s volumes are encrypted, whether it is password protected, if any unwanted applications are running, and more. Administrators can set comprehensive compliance and security policies using GEARS, and leverage this information through Portnox.
More specifically, Portnox can automatically validate and enforce that the GEARS endpoint client is installed and check the device’s compliance status with GEARS as part of an overall Portnox access enforcement policy. “We believe a critical part of meeting today’s advanced internal and external threats is to be completely aware and in control of everything connecting to the enterprise networks,” commented Nir Aran, CEO of Portnox. “The combination of Portnox and OPSWAT GEARS working together provides the enterprise 100% real-time device awareness, unmatched device compliance validation and control, demanded in meeting the security challenges of today.”
Similarly, GEARS customers can now take advantage of the integration with Portnox to implement strong network access controls driven by GEARS compliance as well as gaining additional visibility and control of additional network devices [e.g. printers, VoIP, cameras, etc.]. OPSWAT’s VP of Business Development, Tom Mullen said, “Portnox is a fantastic enforcement complement to GEARS, and we look forward to working with Portnox to enable administrators to implement a wide variety of endpoint compliance enforcement options for both devices already on the network as well devices connecting to the networks managed by Portnox.”
