Oral Surgeon Matthew Rand Joins Coast Dental in Melbourne and Titusville
Melbourne, FL (PRWEB) July 11, 2013 -- Residents in the Melbourne and Titusville areas who have missing teeth, impacted teeth or facial trauma have a new option for treatment now that Dr. Matthew Rand is joining two Coast Dental offices. Dr. Rand practices a wide scope of procedures such as corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma repair, oral pathology, TMJ treatment, CT-guided dental implant surgery, bone grafting and complex dentoalveolar surgery under intravenous conscious sedation and general anesthesia. He also performs pre-prosthetic surgery, ridge augmentation, soft tissue grafting, sinus lift surgery, and exposure of teeth for orthodontic purposes. Dr. Rand treats adults, teenagers and children as young as 4.

Dr. Rand graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami where he majored in Psychobiology and Chemistry. He went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. During dental school, he also completed a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute Surgery Branch through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholars program. In addition, he received a number of awards for academic achievement, including the prestigious Robert E. O'Neil Prize in Oral Surgery and the American Academy of Oral Medicine Award. Dr. Rand continued his studies at the University of Michigan Medical School where he obtained his Medical Degree, and went on to complete his training in General Surgery, Adult and Pediatric Anesthesia and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan Hospital. He also completed a one-year Microvascular Training Program at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Rand has coauthored articles for publications such as the Journal of Dental Research and is currently a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Miami Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Chalmers J. Lyons Academy. Dr. Rand regularly provides oral surgery services for those without access to dental care through his volunteer work at the Community Health Center of West Palm Beach.
