(PRWEB) July 16, 2015 -- Oral Surgery will be the focus of the latest episode of IN AMERICA, hosted by the man with one of the most famous voices in the world; Mr. James Earl Jones. This focused piece will cover the views of the surgeons as well as patients regarding this specialty of dentistry and how they tackle diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries. This episode will also cover the advancements that have been made in oral surgery over the years.
Oral Surgeon’s specialties include everything from the removal of wisdom teeth, crowns and the installation of implants to the removal of malignant or benign tumors and reconstruction. The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons estimates that oral and pharyngeal (upper throat) cancer kills over eight thousand people a year. This rate of death is high partly because the diagnosis is routinely late in the development of oral and pharyngeal cancer. Oral surgeons are the front line of defense in identification and early treatment of oral and pharyngeal cancers. The program is independently developed and produced, and is not distributed by PBS.
