Orange County Gathers at Vanguard University to Raise Human Trafficking Awareness, Hosted by Global Center for Women and Justice
Costa Mesa, CA (PRWEB) August 25, 2015 -- The Global Center for Women and Justice (GCWJ) at Vanguard University will host the annual Priceless Luncheon to End Human Trafficking on Saturday September 19, 2015 at the Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach. The luncheon will raise money to fund human trafficking initiatives in Orange County and beyond. Lead event sponsors include Jasmine Shodja and Karen and Barry Meguiar.
The annual luncheon, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Sandra Morgan, brings research, education and advocacy to the issues of human trafficking. This year, Dr. Morgan, who is the director for the GCWJ and a former administrator for the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force, will illustrate how vital education is in preventing trafficking crimes.
Over 300 guests are expected to attend the Newport Beach event.
“We are passionate about educating and empowering others to overcome great obstacles,” said Jasmine Shodja, Priceless Luncheon chair and vice president of Wells Fargo, The Private Bank. “By watching the ripple effects of the work done to combat human trafficking here and around the world, and being a small part of the force behind, it is an inspiration and a reason to face every day with strength and hope.”
The annual Diamond Award winners will also be announced at the event. The Diamond Award honors individuals and organizations whose commitment and efforts promote justice for women and children affected by human trafficking in Orange County. The Honorable Ed Royce, United States House of Representatives, will be presenting the awards along with his wife, Marie.
Tickets to attend the luncheon are $150 each and sponsorships are available. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit vanguard.edu/gcwj/pricelessluncheon.
