Oregon Health and Science University Transitions from Vanderbilt’s CORES program to iLab’s Core Facility Management Platform
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 28, 2014 -- Oregon Health and Science University has partnered with iLab Solutions to transition from Vanderbilt’s CORES (Core Ordering & Reporting Enterprise System™) software to iLab Solutions’ Core Facility Management platform.
This deal follows in the footsteps of a merger between Vanderbilt University and iLab Solutions. In March 2013, Vanderbilt and iLab announced a partnership to develop one single standard for the research community. The unified platform, which is hosted on iLab’s existing infrastructure, leverages iLab’s implementation, user support and professional services team with Vanderbilt’s academic perspective, software engineering and decades of experience operating core facilities.
“The iLab software system is a critical part of OHSU’s shared resource development and management strategy,” stated Andrew Chitty, Program Manager, University Shared Resources at OHSU. “Core directors will employ it to evaluate resource usage and plan accordingly to optimize their scientific and sustainability goals. All OHSU stakeholders - administration, core leaders, and investigators will use it to help make informed, strategic decisions that optimize core facilities for the entire OHSU research community.”
OHSU began its third wave of core facilities onto the iLab platform in September 2014 with an expected 11 facilities to adopt the solution. Facilities included in this adoption are the Flow Cytometry, Advanced Light Microscopy, Massively Parallel Sequencing, Histopathology and Advanced Imaging cores.
“We have worked closely with OHSU to ensure we meet their needs while providing a transition that is as seamless as possible,” stated iLab VP, Business Development, Heather Lorenz.
Part of the transition to iLab includes full financial integration between iLab and the OHSU financial system. The integration is designed to reduce billing errors, increase cost recovery, and streamline the billing and financial management process. iLab is also integrating with the OHSU User Directory to reduce redundant logins and passwords and allow for a single and efficient sign-on process at OHSU.
