Organization Impacting Early Care and Education Field Announces Champions for Children Awardees
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 17, 2016 -- Since 1976, CCRC has worked to help children and families reach their full potential with the help of our 2016 Champions for Children, Camille Maben, Executive Director of First 5 California and Ed Hill, CCRC’s former Chair - Board of Directors.
These champions have supported CCRC’s mission, vision and values in one or all of the following ways:
- Developed comprehensive programs that strengthen families and prepare young children for success.
- Established and promoted community collaboration across the county, state and country.
- Increased and enhanced the knowledge of politicians and stake holders on the significant impact early care and education has on the economy at the local and state level.
Meet the Champions:
Camille Maben, Executive Director, First 5 California
Camille Maben has been serving her role as Executive Director of First 5 California since December 2012. Through her leadership, First 5 California is implementing several evidence-based and results-driven signature programs targeted to children, parents and teachers that focus on quality. She most recently served as Co-Chair of the State Advisory Council on Early Learning and Care, and also helped win and implement the $52.6 million federal Race to the Top – Early Learning Challenge Grant.
Ed Hill, President, Geotechnologies. Inc.
Ed Hill has been involved with CCRC since 2002, serving as Chair of CCRC’s Board of Directors from 2005-2009 and 2013-2016. He currently serves CCRC as Chair Emeritus. He is the President of Geotechnologies, Inc. which has consulted on more than 21,000 projects since 1971. He is a state-licensed geotechnical engineer, geologist and a member of the California Bar Association. Ed has more than 30 years of experience serving the Greater Los Angeles area in seismic, soil engineering and foundation engineering projects. He currently oversees marketing, client development, coordination and performance of field exploration, laboratory testing and preparation of formal geotechnical reports.
