Orlando Community Arts Brings Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker to Bob Carr PAC for the Holidays
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) November 01, 2013 -- Orlando Community Arts Inc. (OCA) presents its annual offering of the Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker. This year’s performance promises to be an exciting reflection of the cultural diversity of Central Florida. Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker travel around the world, engaging with various cultures as they visit Winter Wonderland, Candyland and RainForest. The duo will also experience the sights and sounds of the Caribbean and Spain where they will observe and then dance with happy residents of these regions. They end their travels in the Big Apple, at Time Square which is Clare’s “dream come true.” The production, which was written by Mrs. Beverly Page, is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office as an adaptation of the traditional holiday story “The Nutcracker and the King of Mice” originally written by E.T.A. Hoffman.
In addition to the pageantry of dazzling costumes and exciting dance moves performed in Ballet, Modern, Swing, Gospel, Step and Hip Hop, the show includes several performances by the renowned Jones High School Choir. This is truly community collaboration at its best. OCA is pleased to be able to bring together several local dance groups to create a cast of over one hundred children and young people to perform in downtown Orlando. This community “Arts in Education” initiative will transform and enhance the quality of life for youth in Central Florida.
